Getting my Noodler’s Ahab Flex Nib Pen ready for Sketching in Toulouse
Putting my Noodler’s Ahab Flex Nib pen through its paces to see if it’s ready for the Urban Sketcher’s Symposium in Toulouse. I created a variety of different line weight by adjusting the pressure, and the angle of the nib. Then I used it to test the writing and sketching capabilities.
Cafe Urban Sketch and Portrait Sketching using colour contrast (Day 133)
Day 133 of sketching people inĀ ink and watercolour. Urban sketch at a local cafe of a man with a pastel de nata, and a portrait sketch of Koosje Koene using a limited colour palette inspired by Ludivine Alligier’s tutorial about creating contrast with colour and text. Both sketches with some poetic reportage.

Day 132 of sketching people. Drawing is Free speed sketching event on zoom. Sketched a series of portraits, where every pose is the length of a music track. Continuing with a Sailor Fude pen to vary the line weight. Also did the Drawing Earthsworld daily portrait hosted on Facebook.

I’m an Urban Sketcher and I Only Need One Pen…
If you could only take one pen out urban sketching, could you do it? If so, what pen would you use? I considered but discounted my fude collection in favour of the Twisbi Vac700R, and am wondering if she can give me all the line variation I’m looking for. Is she “the one”?
