Corduroy Bunny Pin Cushion

#ThrowbackThursday

Of all my sewing tools and bits and bobs, this was one little chap I was sad to leave behind when we relocated from Los Angeles to Turkey.

He used to sit on my sewing table and be there for moral support when my sewing machine jammed. Well actually he just sat there silently holding my pins and needles—but in my imagination, he was helping me every step of the way with any sewing project I did.

Made from tan corduroy and leopard print ears, he was a fetching addition during my bunny sewing phase. Although in hindsight, the pins in his belly make him look like a voodoo bunny.

For a couple of months I had a bunny obsession, and most of them were large blind bunnies (I never got around to sewing their eyes on), which I gave these away to a local nursery school when I left LA. But I donated my sewing machine, my sewing tools, material, thread, and bunny pin cushion to an inner-city after school program. I had hopes of inspiring the next generation of fashion designers, and hope my machine got put to good use.

I really miss it.
