Sketchbook Revival Art Challenge by Koosje Koene

I started the first few days of the Sketchbook Revival Challenge, and one of the early instructors was Koosje Koone. Her class was about sketching the same object over and over again. So I chose to sketch her portrait numerous times using freeze frame images from her class video.

The last one is probably most lifelike sketch and it’s the one I took the most time and care to sketch, but I prefer my version #3 – which is more of a caricature with an elongated face.

Koosje has published a book called Life is Better when you draw it. I haven’t read it, but if I ever feel like I’m getting into a creative rut, I think I may end up buying it.
