Day One Hundred and Seventy-Three to Seventy-Five days of Sketching People

Continuing on with day 176-8 of my #Kick365 sketching challenge to draw people in ink and watercolour, sketching three days of Earthsworld Challenge Portraits.

The resource photos provided are so inspiring. There’s never a boring or uninteresting face shared as part of this Facebook Challenge, and I don’t like to spend too much time with this daily sketch. The idea is to capture a likeness quickly, and add a little bit of creative licence with the rendering. Sometimes I like to exaggerate features, not so the sketch ebbs towards caricature, but rather that it has some defining features that scream for attention.

I managed to capture this guy’s pensive resting bitch face, and was happy there was a pair of hands to sketch. I also added some text to this page, so that I could practice my imperfect lettering.

I’d really like to do this sketching challenge every day – and that’s going to be my goal in October. But for this month, my participation will continue to be a bit erratic.
