My Printed Postcard of an Urban Sketch at Tavira Market

The Direção Regional de Cultura do Algarve created a postcard series that was part of the Gentes do Mercado exhibition in September 2022. This annual event takes place at the market to promote the healthy Mediterranean Diet Festival, they host each year.

Urban Sketchers Algarve

Urban Sketchers Algarve held a sketching event last June where the group sketched whatever caught our attention at the market, and afterwards we all had lunch together at one of the market restaurants.

The sketches were exhibited at the Tavira Mercardo in September as part of this year’s Mediterranean Diet Festival.

It was my first foray with this urban sketching group because usually they sketch in other parts of the Algarve, and I’m without a car at the moment. So I was glad they came to Tavira, and I can’t wait for my next Urban Sketcher’s Algarve event.

Urban Sketcher’s Posters Created

The postcards were created in conjunction with the creation of these large display posters that were on display at the Tavira Market during the Mediterranean Diet Festival.

Lunch at Tavira Market

Filipe, one of our fellow urban sketchers captured us all having lunch. That’s me at the end in the striped shirt – not impressed with the Portuguese liquor shot they ordered.
