Day One Hundred and Forty-Seven of Sketching People
Continuing on with day 147 of my #Kick365 sketching challenge to draw people in ink and watercolour. I attended the Monday afternoon session of Drawing is Free speed sketching on Zoom.
Speed Sketching with a Limited Art Materials
Tonight I chose a fine liner 0.8 – because I’m into bold lines at the moment, but the Micron I’m using is also quite good for creating weak and broken lines depending on how hard you press the nib on the paper. I also used a Tombow Water-based brush pen N75, which is a lovely soft grey, which I dissolved with some water for facial shading. For the eyes I used another Tombow Water-based brush pen 443, which is a bright blue.
Here’s some of tonights favourites. I was experimenting with a looser broken ink line and tonal shading, but couldn’t resist adding a bit of spot-colour in the eye.

Here’s the complete rogues gallery.
